Dust and ashes

My shattered integrity spills
Over the moonlit glitzy sky.
I feel the starstruck nibbling
Of ephemeral breeze
Blowing over the
Benighted grassland.

The days of thunder had
Slipped away into obscurity.
I witness the serene sky
Open and wide mimicking
Endurance, receptivity
Urging me to bow my head
At its vast lenience.

My paranoiac mind
Holds its ground
Muttering in disbelief
Denying the lie
With an outcry of finality
That reveals I am
Never to give in.

I hear the sky
Whispering in my ear
‘After this whim of
Filibustering is over;
All would be left of you
Is dust and ashes.’
